A great example of a hybrid car that can give you 50 miles to the gallon is the Prius developed by Toyota. With a price tag of about $22,000, this Toyota hybrid has become a top seller. Toyota is not the only car maker who is selling hybrids, though; Honda made the ‘Insight’ and in fact this car was the first hybrid vehicle to be made available to to consumers. It was not welcomed in the same manner as the Prius hybrid by Toyota but it started off the consumer market for hybrids. An award-winning hybrid and priced at roughly $27,000 is the Ford Fusion Hybrid. In the US, the Ford Fusion has been given the award of being the top hybrid on the market. A hybrid which is thought to have no emissions whatsoever is the i-MiEV from Mitsubishi. It was one of the early electric vehicles to be made by a Japanese car manufacturer.
There are also numerous other hybrid and eco friendly cars available to the public, and as we continue to develop improved technologies, more and more efficient cars are made and are available to buy.
